Cough, Cough, Sneeze

Poor Jude, is sick. Again. Almost 5 months and he has bronchitis. He has an awful cough and doesn't want to be put down at all. I spent two nights this week sitting in the steamy bathroom for hours with him. (he sat in his bouncy chair) I feel asleep one night. Not so comfortable.

We have been to the doctor twice this week. First visit the doctor prescribed meds via a nebulizer every 4 hours. Jude has to wear a little mask and breathe the medicine in. He doesn't like it at all. Can't blame him. Viv, doesn't like his mask either. She gets really upset when he cries with his mask on. She is so sweet. She holds his hand and tells him "It's almost over little buddy" over and over. He smiles, then she makes silly noises to make him laugh. Her empathy amazes me.

Today was visit #2. The doctor said he is clearing up and sounded much better than he did on Monday but still not 100%. He is still the happiest little guy. Miserably tired but still all smiles.

So far I am healthy and Viv is healthy. Knock wood! She eats 3-4 oranges a day so hopefully with all of the vitamin C in her system she will stay healthy. My friend Shannon turned me on to "Emergen - C' it is this gross (yes, Shannon, it is gross!) powder mix. I don't like it. Have to hold my nose to drink it but.... it must be working because I am in very close contact with Jude and seem to be okay.

We have been sick off and on since November with a lingering cold/cough combo. We have collectively spent more time at the doctor this year than any other year I can remember. We are typically really healthy. I don't know what is so different about the past few months but, I am sick of being sick! I don't know how he has done it but, Brad has managed to escape our germs. Not so much as a sniffle. Lucky!
