I'm back

Hi All.. sorry I have MIA for awhile. I am cursed and didn't want to share my bad fortune with you.

My dog Duke had to have ANOTHER cornea surgery at VHUP. He had his left eye operated on in 2006 when he was 10 months old. This time it was his right eye that was cloudy, inflamed and ulcerated. He was yelping in pain and couldn't open his eye so at 11PM, Brad and hopped in the car ( Rachel babysat) and took him to VHUP - The hospital has a critical care pet ER. We waited for 4 hours and he was admitted and was transferred to the doggy ICU. The following morning he had surgery to repair his cornea. Then he was sent back to the ICU due to surgery complications... I will spare you the gory details.
There are only 2 Vet Ophthalmologist in the tri-state area so as I was sitting in the waiting room at 3am, I decided that since Vivi is such an animal lover she should be a doggy Ophthalmologist. She is only 3, so I have a few years to talk her into it.
A few thousand dollars later and my little buddy is home and resting comfortably. He lost half of his eye and lets just say with 1 eye sown shut, 1 eye cataract, buck teeth, and bowed legs he could win The Ugliest Dog contest. I love him to pieces but he is totally a contender.

I will save you the rest of my misery but, it has been a really rough month. I feel as if everytime I think the worst has passed I get another healthy heapin' of bad news. If my life was a book it would be a best seller. Hopefully we are at the part where everyone lives happily ever after....

That's a great idea...write a memoir! I would totally buy it and read it. You have a great writing style and I am sure it would be a best seller!

Yes, turn those lemons into lemonade and write a book and make millions! Then you could tell all that bad news to go screw itself!!! Wishing you lots of smiles and happiness ahead ... the worst has to be behind :-)

Well I'm glad you're back, and hoping things are looking brighter. Let me know if there's anything I can do (even though I'm 60 miles away) <3

I have been wondering why I can't get in touch with you. I'm so sorry. That sucks Sarah. You are not catching a break. Sorry about Duke, poor thing. When you can, when you have a minute to breathe, call me. Love you.
