Lenny..our new furry friend. He is 3 months old and just as sweet as can be. He purrs...ALL DAY. He is the happiest cat I have ever known. Duke is afraid of him and Penny just barks at him.. but she barks all of the time anyway so who is to say it is directed at him?...

It took me a little over a year to bring a new cat home after my beloved but, mildly psychotic buddy (of 12 years) Alex died. After spending the week cat-sitting for my friend. I knew it was time.
Bringing Lenny home reminded me just how much I missed Alex as on the first night he snuggled behind my back just like Alex used to.


Viv & Jude love Lenny. They really LOVE Lenny. Thankfully Lenny is faster than Jude and well, can jump higher than Viv can reach although..he hasn't scratched her yet so I guess he doesn't mind being carried like a baby, smothered in kisses and riding in her dolly stroller. He has picked Viv's room as "his room". She has a little bed for him at the foot of her bed and that is where he likes to sleep during the day. Conveniently right in front of her fish tank..

Since he kept in a cage at the rescue for so long (2 months before we brought him home) he never jumped or ran up stairs. The first time he did it he kept going up and down and up and down. He was so happy and proud of himself. I must have watched him for an hour. It was adorable!

Every night when Brad gets home Lenny follows him around and jumps up to sit with him for nightly lovin'. Much better greeting than Alex gave him when they first met. Alex used to poop in Brad's shoes. After a few months Alex decided Brad wasn't so bad and that he could stay and eventually stopped pooping in his shoes. I am sure it had "nothing" to do with the extra food and treats Brad gave him.
